Good nutrition is the foundation for health and fitness, and is essential for complete CrossFit training. At CrossFit Freedom, we advocate the Paleolithic approach to nutrition.

A diet of lean meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds are dietary staples of Paleolithic nutrition, while starch, refined sugar, and processed foods are avoided.  This diet is based upon principles of evolutionary medicine, the idea that modern humans are genetically identical to our ancient ancestors and genetically adapted to their diet.  Modern diets, therefore, are out of sync with our genetic requirements, and make us more susceptible to such “diseases of civilization” as coronary heart disease, cancer, diabetes, fatigue, sleep disorders, as well as early aging and obesity.  By understanding the effect that different nutrients have on us, we can implement changes in our consumption that will lead to improved performance, incineration of excess body fat, better fitness, and most importantly, better health.

As an athlete at CrossFit Freedom, you will receive all of the nutritional guidance necessary to best fuel your body for optimal fitness and longevity. Not only to help you maximize your performance and recovery in the gym, our nutritional program will greatly improve the way you look, feel, and function in your everyday life.
